Happy Birthday

I made a banner and placemat for my grandfather's upcoming 85th birthday party.

I used Momenta's cardstock from PA-2376 Pastel, PA-2375 Bright and PA-1411 Silver Distress papers to make all the parts of the banner.  They are connected with fishing line.

The balloons are from the 'Something to Celebrate' cartridge.  Each letter was cut with Cricut's 'Opposites Attract' cartridge

and has a star accent,

with some Diamond Stickles bling,

a party themed brad from the Eyelet Outlet,

streamers,

and eyelets on each side,

to help connect all the pieces on the banner.

The placemat is just for my grandfather to since it's his birthday.  The main paper is from Momenta's PA-1991 'All Through The Year' stack.  Then I used the Cricut's 'Something to Celebrate' cartridge to make all the party themed die-cuts in the corners.  An EK Success punch goes around the outside with some Diamond Stickles in between all the stars.

Now you know people are going to turn over the placemat to look at the back.  We all do it, we're nosy.  So for a fun surprise I used Momenta's PA-1305 Wild Animal paper.  It's a fun, upbeat and the colors match the other items for the party.  I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.

Stickle me!

This morning, my son said "Stickle me!" thinking he was being silly and pronouncing the word 'tickle' incorrectly.  Well, being the crafty mom that I am, I got out a bottle of Stickles and (with the cap on) rubbed the glitter glue all over him.  He was pleasantly confused and giggly.  What a nice way to start the day, with a happy kid and Stickles.

Now that the boys aren't napping, they are awake while I am scrapbooking.  They want to participate and do so by sharing my desk.

Technically it's nice that everyone is getting along, but it leaves very little room for 12x12 paper...

1st Day card

I made this universal card in approximately 20 minutes.

With the Momenta 17374 'Doodle Floral' Pyramid paper pack, the only paper I had to trim was the blue background.  It was soooo easy!  Momenta's PK-2147 Black Tie pack, ST-5279 Alphas provided the lettering that stands out on EK Success 3D dots.  I edged the card with Rubber Stampede Primary 'Fuschia' ink.

This card was partially inspired by the August challenge at Scrap It Girl.  We had to use a number somewhere on the project.  Good luck to everyone else that entered.  By the way, I found this challenge on ScrapChallenge.com.

Pumpkins

Here is a layout I found that I never posted picture of.  I have NO idea how that happened.  This showcases the boys during their first trip to a pumpkin patch.

I thought the paper and eyelets did a great job of expanding the background in the photos.  It's hard to believe we'll be doing this again really soon.
