HIMCR DT #103 - Wedding theme!

This weeks theme at HIMCR is wedding!

My brother is getting married in a few months so I made this card for them.

I know it isn't the traditional wedding style card, but it is THEM.  She likes owls and pink, he races Autocross and has a lot of tires.

The tires are on 3D adhesive and the owl is on an Action Wobble.  I also used an EK Success punch, Lily Bee Design alphas and ribbon.

I can't wait to see your wedding projects linked to HIMCR this week.

This was based on a sketch:

This was for the color combo challenge.  We had to use sea-glass, yellow and mango.

This was a layout with a weather theme.

This one has 4 primary colors; red, white, blue and green.

Online crop

Cheeky Chic is having an online crop and all the proceeds go to those involved in the OK Tornado.  They have a lot of challenges that were posted on June 15 and are due on June 22.  Here are some of my layouts for their challenges.

This was for a challenge based on an ad from a magazine:

This one was a scraplift from one of their guest designers:

This was based on yellow colors in a picture:

For this, they had a picture of multiple household items and we had to use at least 3.  I chose the crayon, paper towel (tube) and tissue box (part you remove to use the tissues).

HIMCR DT #102 - Die Cuts

This week at HIMCR we are using die cuts, that includes punches too!

I made this layout with the NEGATIVE part of the die cut.

I'm not sure if you can read it, but the die cut says 'BRANDED.'  The black paper is raised with 3D adhesive.  I tried to make it look like the word was branded onto the paper, like farmers do with livestock.

I used Paper Studio and DCWV paper, Storybook cartridge, stickers, ribbon, red ink and 3D adhesive.

Please link up your die cut projects to HIMCR too.

Egg-xtra special card

15 years ago my brother broke his ankle.  While I was helping to take care of him, he asked me to make scrambled eggs.  I warned him that I can't really make eggs but he wanted them anyways.  They ended up being the worst eggs ever.  He is still disturbed by it.

Last week he had knee surgery, on the same leg.  I sent him this card:

Now I can honestly say I made eggs for him again, and these don't taste bad.  ::snicker::

I used Chore Chart and Doodlecharms cartridges and an Action Wobble.

HIMCR DT #100D- All That Shimmers

There are a lot of challenges at HIMCR today.  This challenge is to make something with shimmer or sparkle.

The sponsor today is Sheri Baldi and her 'Besties' digis.  I used one on this card.  It's hard to see (and photograph) but 3 of the papers have a sheen.  The background is a mirror type of paper, the light green has glitter and the purple has some shimmer too.  This image had some coloring and I did the rest with Prismacolor Pencils.  The stamp is from Scrappy Moms.

I hope you have something in your stash that shimmers.  Please use it and link to HIMCR

HIMCR DT #100C- Free Digi

There are a lot of challenges at HIMCR today.  Please visit the blog and get a FREE digi from Naomi for this challenge.  I used the puppy playing in the rain.

This card turned out so cute!  In addition to the digi I used Prismacolor markers, Scrappy Moms stamp, ink and DCWV cardstock.

Now it's your turn to get a free digi to use at HIMCR.

HIMCR DT #100B- Die cuts

There are a lot of challenges today at HIMCR.  This one is to use a diecut (punches included) on your project.

I made a card with a die cut and a punch.

I used Paper Studio paper, Lyrical Letters cartridge, a punch and Diamond Stickles.

I hope you are able to make something and link it to the HIMCR blog.  Laurie has a cartridge to give away!

HIMCR DT #100A- Choose a previous HIMCR Challenge

There are a lot of extra challenges today!  This one is to use the theme of any previous HIMCR Challenge.  I chose the 10 Minute Card challenge.  My kids behaved for 20 minutes, I was able to make TWO!

This one used images from 'Hey There and Broken Glass Stickles.

This card has a star from the 'Teacher Appreciation' set with DCWV paper, Diamond Stickles and a Fiskars stamp.
