Lazy days

I found some photos of the boys relaxing last summer.  I tried to have the layout imitate the activity in the pics.

I was able to use a lot of scraps on this layout.

Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop with OWH

This is my second post today, please scroll down for the HIMCR 'Father's Day' post.
-----
This weekend I'm proud to be a part of the memorial Day Weekend blog hop with Operation Write Home.

We all used sketches to make thank you cards for our deployed troops to send home to their family and friends.  Here are the 2 I made:

These were based on sketch 165.

I had so much fun making these.

The blue one has Basic Grey for the background.  The other has Fancy Pants for the background.  I also used DCWV, Ek Success Punch, American Crafts stamps and ink.

HIMCR DT #99 - Father's Day

This week we are focusing on Fathers.  I made a layout of my husband and our kids.

I love this picture. The layout is good too.

I used a bunch of scraps and an older paper for the background.

Please make something with fathers in mind and link it to HIMCR.  Have a great day!

Chalk

I found some awesome chalk paper and used a few of the sheets to make these layouts:

One of my younger son at the library:

The other is my older son coloring the porch:

I know these layouts are simpler than others I have done.  But years ago I heard 'you know when your layout is done when you stand back and smile.'  These make me smile.

Monochromatic Blog Hop

Hi!  This is Melanie and I want to welcome you to the Scraps To Treasure Team's Monochromatic Blog Hop.

Our goal at STT is to use up all our scraps and leftover embellishments to create wonderful layouts, cards and other projects.  This month we are doing that using different shades of only one color.
Up for grabs is this RAK from our hostess, Paula at  http://preciouspagesbypaula.blogspot.com that will be going out to one lucky hopper that is a follower of all the blogs in the hop and has left a comment for each entry.

Included in the RAK are:

10 My Mind's Eye Laundry Line Diecuts
2 Basic Grey Bling It On Rubons and Rhinestones
  2 Glitz Frosting Bling
  1 Martha Stewart Glitter Alphas
  1 EK Success Inspirables Embellishments
  1 Special Moments Embellishments
  1 Treasured Memories Metal Tags

For my entry I opted to create this card using one of my favorite colors –Purple.

I used 4 different shades (and brands) of purple paper, Purple Stickles and a Scrappy Moms stamp.

I hope that you have enjoyed stopping by and seeing this creation and now you are ready to move through the following blogs and view more great monochromatic creations.

HIMCR DT #98 - Faux Linen

This week we tried a technique to create a 'faux linen' look on our project.  I did it as shown here:  http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stampin_studio/2009/06/faux-linen-video-.html

In case you're not sure, the 'faux linen' part is the wrinkly bears.

I used paper, tissue paper, stamps, and ink on this card.  It turned out so cute!

Please try this technique and share your project with us at HIMCR.

Craft Space

On NSD I was able to be in my clean scrap space alone and uninterrupted.  It was great.  I took that opportunity to take a picture because who knows when it will happen again.

My corner of the world:

In this one, you can see how close it is to the washing machine.  On the other side of the window is shelves of kid toys and books.

Usually the boys have their coloring table up there too so we can all make things together, like this:

I shared this on Craftin' Desert Diva's blog too.

This week is Super Scraps at HIMCR.  I made this layout:

This is made of all scraps or items I've owned for a while.  The 'e' is actually an 'a' that I trimmed.

Thickers, punch, brads, DCWV and Quick Quotes paper.

NSD!!!!

Today is National Scrapbook Day, my favorite day of the year.  I will be spending the WHOLE day in my scrap space, wearing a scrapbooking shirt and participating in all the challenges on scrapbook.com.  I hope you get to scrapbook today too!   Happy NSD!

HIMCR DT #96 - Name Your Colors! Any Company!

This week at HIMCR we get to choose the colors we work with.  I chose Tan, Black and Maroon for this layout.

While I was trying to get the 'good' photo, the Batmans showed off their tummy.  You can see it in the phots under the flap that the bat is on.

I used Imaginisce, DCWV, ribbon, Black Diamond ICE Stickles and the Batman Cartridge.

So choose some colors, make a project and link it to HIMCR!

Card

Today is my parents anniversary so I made them a card.

After the shock of not owning a stamp that says 'anniversary' wore off, I chose to congratulate them on all the years they have been married.

I used Creative Memories paper, Fiskars stamp and black ink.

Cupcake card

The project I made for today is this card.

This has the 'Icicle' Stickles.  I also used Prisma Color markers, Sepia ink, Scrappy Moms stamp, Kaboodle Digi, and Imaginisce paper.
